Jeff Bezos

The force behind Amazon is something to aspire to by anyone’s standards of success. What we already know about Bezos is that he’s an innovator, not afraid to take risks, and does what he feels is the best choice, no matter what others or history have to say. So far, that has worked for him at the highest ratings of accomplishment. His desk, you ask? Cluttered with books and electronics and it doesn’t appear to be anything more than good-sized and industrial. Want to see a recent pic –

Elon Musk

The leader of SpaceX and Tesla, not surprisingly, Musk is a true techie at heart and in the office. His workspace looks more like a rocket launch command center some of the time … Well, maybe that is what it is part of the time after all. That’s when he brings in the extra screens for multiple processing. But most of the time, his desk is almost too well organized and decluttered. He seems to work best in open and clear areas.

Sir Richard Branson

Can you guess what the desk of this maverick looks like? You probably can’t because he’s never owned a desk to work at according to him. He “prefers a hammock or a tub” as a place to do work. He also stated that the most interesting business phone call he ever took was when Nelson Mandela called to pick his brain and throughout the call … Branson was in his bathtub. Branson considers an ideal working environment to be “flexible.”.

Meg Whitman

Whitman has been the wonder woman of many businesses including eBay, Hewlett Packard, and this year just announced she will be in charge of Jeffrey Katzenberg’s mobile content venture. In accepting the new position, she said: “I thought it was one of the most timely and disruptive of ideas that I’ve come across in my career, and I’ve looked at thousands of startups.” We don’t know what her new desk will be like, but from her past choices, it won’t be in an office away from the workers, it will be in the middle of the action … probably in a cubicle like this from the past.
